Adrienne
The Backline Flying Fox and the Siamese Algae Eater are the one and same fish. This may be what you purchased.
vindy500
so whats this about false sae then?
jolliolli
a true SAE will have a black line all the way through the end of the tail fin, the false SAEs won't, thats the easiest way to tell
David R
SAE's only have the black line too, no gold line above it.
Simian
the # of barbels is an indicator too, there are about 5 diff species that get called flying foxes, the most common IMO is the SAE
bedazzled
I am currently looking for one of these and the only shop locally that had a sign up for them showed a pic of a SAE and it was called a Siamese Flying Fox, sooooo confusing! They had no stock any way *sigh*
FreedingFrenzy
This might be a bit much to ask, but can someone please post a picture of each of the fish? Just so we can tell the difference? (I would google it myself but it would confuse me more...)... Please
