BigBossPants
I'm hoping to move from Tauranga to Wellington some time after Xmas, or early in 2009. I currently have a 4ft tank with an Ornate Bichir, Jack Dempsey, Green Severum and an Oscar. I'll be packing up my tank and shipping it with my other stuff, but it could take a few days and I don't want to have to panic about setting the tank up asap, not to mention what to do with the fish while in transit! So my question is... Would anyone be willing to have me send my fish to them beforehand, and collect them once I'm set up? I'd guess it'd be for 2-3 weeks... I'm not fussed about whether they go to the same place or seperately. Hard to say how big the fish would be at that stage, I'll have to ask again closer to the time! I know it's waaaay in advance but I'm just putting some feelers out there
Spink
Hey BogBossPants, Do all you fish live in the same tank together? The reason i ask, I'm in Upper Hutt Wellington, and probably wouldn't mind volunteering, but your fish are much bigger than mine, so i would have to set up a tank for them on their own, which wouldn't be a prob if I had a large enough spare tank and the equipment. Have you considered sending your fish 'on holiday'? Some pet shops can house your fish for you while you are on holiday or moving, at either a low cost or free. Perhaps try Hutt pets in Lower Hutt - they have a website, and it wouldn't hurt to email and ask if they can help you out. Worth a shot! Dixon1990
Maybe mystic will be able to help? She takes good care of her own fish and has big tanks/fish
Guest
On hutt pets website it says they house fish but they charge (I don't know how much though)
BigBossPants
Haha I instantly thought of Mystic actually! Hopefully she stumbles across the thread  I hadn't thought of the pet store idea, not sure if I'd trust a shop tho, what with being closed at night and all. Probably cost a lot more than doing it privately too, but I will keep it in mind. Yep, they all live together happily at this stage Most of them r quite little, the Bichir and JD are the biggest at about 8" (guesstimate) There will, of course, be a box of beer or the like in it for any assistance, I'm not expecting ppl to do it for free! Ira
I'll watch your bichir for you, as long as you don't expect to get it back.

caserole
What temp do you keep your fish? I have a fish room that I could empty a 900x600x300mmhigh tank for them to live in if that is big enough( fish room gets hot that time of year, they would be the only fish in the tank ). BigBossPants
They stay fairly warm, about 27*C upwards. I have a feeling that sized tank might be a little on the small side by then. Would be ok now but they will have grown... Thanks tho
