Johannes Visser
Would it be possible to home Frontosa fry 1-2cm, with our Tropheus Dubois ? :-? The Tropheus Dubois are breeding and have fry of there own in the tank The frontosa will be re -homed at a later stage! ??
A.PROPHECY
they eat difernat foods tho, that would be the only problem
DantezGirl
quick question are frontosa hard to breed? or do they just have a habbit of produceing more males than females?
Johannes Visser
Wish I have, sadly have not bred any yet Hoping to get 20 Fry soon, don't want them out in the fish room, thought we could keep them inside over the winter months with the T-D then move them out when the summer comes. ! Tropheus
My Fronts are about 3yrs now and have had females holding for about 5 days then nothing. The last couple of months have had one batch of three fry and have another females at about 20 days. My group of 12 are housed with Aul. Ruby reds and Red Empress and are all doing well except the Ruby reds arent holding more then 5-6 days which is a disappointment. Not due to harrassment but I think infertile. All my fish including my Tropheus and Fronts get fed Nutrafin Max so mixing them wouldnt matter. But if your Tropheus just get fed a Vege diet then dont mix them as the Fronts diet would suffer

DantezGirl
wow what a legend mystic good to see people spreading the joy and spreading the species through nz on the question of introducing new members would it work if say you took every one out then rearranged the tank and added every one in at the same time? or is this way to much hassle stress time labour? Freakyfish
You can put them together if they are all fry no problems at all Also your Fronts should start breeding at around the 2.5 year age but they will get better and better as they get older Brad
Tropheus
Yeah got that right Brad. Another female just ate her eggs. Tropheus
Bugger. had 15 wrigglers but now down to 10. Alot harder to maintain then any other cichlid ive had from eggs. A real eye opener and learning curve
