AMAZONIAN
Hi All. the "GRAVID" spot on the FEMALE livebearers is actually the "Peritoneal Wall" and located as shown in the above picture. As pregnancy progresses the spot increases in size. Just before delivery you will even be able to see the eyes of the unborn fry within the stomach of the female, through the Gravid Spot. By watching the development of newly born Guppy's, or other Live Bearers, you can see this spot developing as well as their normal growth. It is by noticing this spot that you can quickly remove any fry with no spot as they are invariably males.

Cookieskennels
i have what i think 5 preg guppys, i can clearly see the black eyes of the babies on 4 of the females but one female looks yellowy where it should be black? what does this mean and also how long does it take them to have the babies, as i dont want them in a 5 way breeder for ages,
AMAZONIAN
Hi All. I am going to supply an answer that you could expect from "WOK" or AMAZONIAN on a humourous day. I suggest that you check and make sure of the ethnicity of the father.
