Dixon1990
Yesterday i picked up a free leaking 90L Hexagonal tank with some fish. It came with 2 neons 2 albino Cory 2 Mickey mouse platy with 20 fry The Corys dont have whiskars. Any ideas why?
Caryl
May be the substrate is too sharp for them and they wore off or used to be with tank mates who ate them.

Guest
My panda corys always lost their wiskers but my bronze corys don't. So maybe certain types lose their wiskers easier.

Loopy
Could be a water quality issue? i would think that corydoras barbels are pretty sensitive. especially when you think of what they are sifting and foraging around in all day and night
Matthew
It is possible that the cory's had lost their barbels in the pet store prior to them being purchased. Typically it is due to them being in a tank with substrate that is sharp. Not sure how correct it is but I understand that they are poor breeders once the barbels are gone
