livingart
it may be from a rabid or premature locust sorry bull dog havent had that happen to me repto may know though
repto
now and again the odd one seems to get caught short or whatever.they just dry up and are no good.check your sand is not too dry?change it weekly, but by the end of the week probably over dry anyway. davidb
As repto says. Use vermeculite instead of sand as it holds the moisture better
Varanophile
top of laying medium needs to be same height as rest of tank. do not leave dirt or grassy areas that they can lay in. and use vermiculite as above.
bulldogod
so how deep does the laying medium need to be?and do you need to have it under the light ????my locusts are humping away but not producing the goods
Beardie_Guy
I am having the same problem.... Lots of humping not a lot of action afterwards.
repto
lets just stick to the locusts for now, beardie guy,try your doctor or health professional! if your temps are not in the low 30`s this can happen,I use your normal see through throwaway drink cup, have seen polystyreen coffee cups used but prefer the others which are slightly deeper and you can often see the eggs down the side.Take your egg cups out weekly or even as soon as you have eggs till you get the hang of it.
