hey i normally feed my discus tetra colourbits in the yellow jar with red lid but was wondering if anyone knew if "T & F Discus Feed" was a suitable alternative as jansens have recently raised their price from 13.95 to 20.95 as well as bloodworms from 4.70 to 7.50 a pack so i need to find a suitable alternative.

its on t-me auction 139623756

thanks :)

o and they are all between 7-13cm in size and under 2yrs

Rather than buy cheaper, I'd recommend you buy quality - don't forget how much Discus cost in the first place. Rather than pay Jansens big bucks for average food I'd consider buying JBL stuff (Novobits are the equivalent) for similar money. Phosphate free, vitamin enriched, and reasonably economical so long as you don't overfeed - and don't scrimp too much on bloodworms - they are an essential part of a Discus diet, IMO.

yeah i feed mine bloodworms morning and night but usually let them graze on dry food each time i pass them during the day.

i have considered ox-heart but it comes in such huge quantities and also is very messy in the tank i am told.

white worm is a possibility though, i may give that a try.

thanks for the help :D
