Foxglove
Hi, Can you please supply either a botanic (Latin) name or a pic, so we can tell what plant exactly you are after. Onion weed as found in the garden is very easy to get...
VinsonMassif
The only plants approximating "onion plants" for aquariums that I have come across are Aponogeton sp., or Crinum sp. I got Aponogeton off someone who was very generous, but have not seen it forsale. The only place I could find selling Crinum sp. was Cave's Tree Nursery (google them)
alanmin4304
Crinum tiainum, natans or calamustrum. They are of the lilly family. They may be around but I cannot recall seeing them. Might be available from a nursery. It may be a bit like Lobelia cardinalis---plenty of Lobelia in the nursery but not that one.
Rob
It may be a bit like Lobelia cardinalis---plenty of Lobelia in the nursery but not that one. Don't know about the South Island but Lobelia cardinalis "Queen Victoria" is available up here (deep red/bronze foliage, scarlet flowers borne on quite a tall spike). Got mine from Bunnings - just part of their random mix of perenials.
alanmin4304
That one is available in the nurseries here as well. It is sold as an aquatic plant but I have never been able to convert it to submersed. The green variety is the one that looks good once converted but I have never seen that.
