VinsonMassif
I put a bucket of aquarium water out in the sun, it turns green real quick. It is the bacterium Infusoria which you are feeding to your fry.

VinsonMassif
Just seive the water using a fish net, or stocking etc. Another way is to press a lettuce leaf flat with the palm of your hand and pour a cup of boiling water over the leaf, leave on the window sill for a day or so and feed the slimy green water to your fry.
