Fmxmatt
Thought I'd start a post for general Clownfish discussion. My 2 are real characters and i'm sure most other peoples have their own personality. Share it and include pics Heres my 2, playing around "THEIR" torch coral. They are VERY protective of it, and have just recently resorted to biting me when i'm trying to clean near their area. They also hang round the top of the tank if i'm hanging over it doing something, and will flick water at me. Twice now, 1 of them has even jumped out of the water to nail me square between the eyes. Yesterday when I was feeding, I noticed one of them grab a huge mouthful of flake and speed back to the torch and spit it at it. I've also seen them sucking on the tenticles. These 2 REALLY need an Anemone, but I have a feeling, even if I get one, they'll be quite happy to keep their Torch Coral. My Blue tang in the background quite often tries to be a clown aswel, but doesn't last long when it gets too close to the torch.

Sapphire
That's cool - I'm wanting to get black and white clowns.... I do have an anemone but it's not that big (at the moment!) and isn't on of the species generally noted in the wild as one they usually host so it'll be interesting to see what they host when (if) I do get them.... I'm wondering if they'll host my hammer instead.....

nemines
this is my maroon clown, he loves to chase my finger up and down the glass. i'm hoping of getting an anenome for him soon, but from wat the guy at HFF said, it'll have to be quite large to host him. atm this is his cave, under my mushrooms... chasing my finger:

nemines
quite possibly, do they just become females when there are no other clowns?

That is hilarious   A couple of questions, the clowns that I've seen so far all have had an anenome (spelled wrong!). So I'm guessin the torch coral is something different all together? Soooo, does mean they don't have to have an anenome? As a rule, do clowns stray far from their "home" whether and anenome or coral? Fmxmatt
They dont need to have one, and they'll host nearly anything. And nah they dont stray far from their coral, and if they do, 1 of them is always at home "defending"
