noob1
hi i've got an outdoor pond, which had a single comet in with a single guppy that is the sole survivor of about five guppies (but it's just given birth so it looks like it's going to have friends again). i got given three goldfish, reasonable size , and they have lumps on their heads, one has one around its eye, and the others have them on the general head area. i don't think it's hoods, but is it possible that they are cross bred? i looked on google for a while, and read that it could be some sort of wart, but my only concern is that it will be contagious and spread to my comet? i'll take a photo later today if it helps. noob1
here is a pic (the lump is just above its eye) any ideas?
Ira
Might be a tumor. Which in goldfish speak means maybe it's a Lionhead?
IOU1
It is probably head growths and nothing to worry about. Comets can often be slightly crossed and so can eventually develop wens with age
Caryl
May also be carp pox. Incurable and unsightly but doesn't harm the fish.
