Slightly Blue Dalmation Posted December 21, 2007 Report Share Posted December 21, 2007 as title suggests i have stupid amounts of green furry algae on my plants and through the tank, its 3ft with 4 light tubes. any suggestions on how to reduce or get rid of it and maybe possible cause so can prevent it. already have 2 SAE and 8BN they help but not much Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Scuba Sam Posted December 22, 2007 Report Share Posted December 22, 2007 I had this same green stuff too - following advice from other people on here (thanks guys) I increased the circulation in the tank - fixed the problem in no time - in my case it was a clogged filter. Navarre Posted January 2, 2008 Report Share Posted January 2, 2008 You could try doing a water change every few days to get rid if excess nutrients in the water. Turning your photo period down (ie decrease your light time by a couple of hours a day) and increase circulation at the water surface. Any and/or all of these should help.
