Mrs Frog
Hi all Overnight my geophagus tank (2 fish), has gone very cloudy, like misty smoke. Its not a fully mature tank yet and the only thing different I have done was added 2 terracotta pot bottoms into it...which I washed. I done a 20% water change, still cloudy and all the water levels are fine. Any idea why this is happening?

MarkLB
Maybe a bacterial bloom? If it is I think it should clear itself up in time. I'd do small water changes daily. 10 - 15 %.
michael.qian
it should clear up, cloudy water is normal for a newly setup tank, or even a mature tank when a bacteria bloom occurs. Try reducing feeding, more small water changes, but don't disturb the tank in a big way.
Mrs Frog
okay cool, I have never seen tank water go misty and smoky like this before so I'm a bit worried.
