evilknieval69
30 kribs! in a week that will be 300, another week 3000, another we...... you get it That will be a pretty sweet tank man! Alot of fish will go with kribs, a long as theres enough hiding places. Some huge schools of tetras would look awesome in with them. Pencilfish also do well with them i have found
anthony law
cheers for that, i was think of ele yelow or same in those lines .
evilknieval69
E.yellows need a different pH etc though. Kribs are a rift lake cichlid, but prefer lower a lower pH than most africans
ryanjury
I have kept kribs in my full african setups before they they have done well.. You could get the ph to around 7.5 and it would work for both, I never bothered and they were ok You have the advantage of having a big enough tank to have alot of options.. you could go down the community tank way.. Or down the african cichlid way full it up with yellows and demasoni Someone has to try and get more dems than evil
evilknieval69
Or down the african cichlid way full it up with yellows and demasoni Someone has to try and get more dems than evil Never!!! Muahahahaha
Afrikan
Some Lionheads would go in well with the Kribs, the Kribs being non rift lake.. they don't need the same requirements water parameter wise as Malawis... I reckon some Lionheads would be awesome amongst the rock work, they are also an African, but non rift lake also..... Oh and maybe a pantodon butterfly fish would look wicked 8)

Ianab
A school of tiger barbs will work fine with kribs too. Similar size, water conditions and they dont hassle each other. 8) Cheers Ian

paul_r
blue rams and bolivian rams dont go with kribs neither do coryhydras....well not in my case, i think its because th kribs have just apawned and tank is on the smaller size - 600x300x300
anthony law
evil you say rift lake is there any anthor fish species in nz that a rift lake?? cheers ant. cheesejawa   8)
evilknieval69
Sorry i was wrong. Kribs are NOT a rift lake cichlid, but are still considered an african cichlid. Lionheads as has been suggested would be awesome with them IMO.

anthony law
i could get a lot of dems in a 560l tank 8) 8) nah im to much of a cat fish fan. so what kribs are african cichlid so what is there in the a/ciclid range that is the same size as the kribs, could i put in discus??
evilknieval69
Discus would probably work. You'd have to up the temp though. In your other post up further i think you may be talking about pantadon butterflys? They are a top dwelling that eat mainly live food. they have real cool finnage and are quite easy to sex i believe. Google will give you a pic and tell you about finnage as i have never kept one.
ryanjury
You could keep Dems and kribs together I have and am at the moment.. However most purists wont recommend it as they're from different places, what PH and GH is your tank? Discus may work but I think they may take a hammering once the kribs start breeding like mad I would probably go for something more robust.
