DutchKiwiCowboy2
as far as I know there is not much in the way of living things that can survive 100 degrees + temps. However if it is chemical I am not sure.

Ianab
It will be fine as long as you have given even a basic clean up. A fish tank isn't a sterile environment at any time, it full of all sorts of bacteria and micro-organisms anyway. A dead fish will pollute the water for sure, but mostly because there is too much ammonia etc released by it's decay for the filters to handle. Boiling it wont have hurt, but hosing it down would have been fine. All the bacteria you killed off in the big boil of 07 will just have to move back in now  Cheers Ian

jim r
I seriously doubt if the driftwood contributed to the death of your fish,( depending on fish type and water parameters)if you had a disease in the tank it is still there. Regular water changes solves a lot of problems.

I feel bugs came from plants I brought..
