IOU1
Bad case of constipation possibly :-? Feed him a couple peas with the shell part off and avoid feeding pellets. Goodluck
spangela
Hey, yeah thort that could possibly be the case would mag sulphate help as well? Cheers
Caper
Yah, I second that try the peas and let us know how he/she makes out. I was advised one time if I thought it was constipation to not feed for three days then peas only for three days. Caper
IOU1
Yeah, a few teaspoons of magnesium sulphate will help also. Let us know how it gets on
spangela
Hey, I didnt have any peas!! so i went with the mag sulphate (epson salts) option, i seperated him and hes come right, theres another one that looks dodgy. so im thinking it could be what im feeding them. I have been feeding alot of bloodworm and a little mysis shrimp.
anthony law
when i had goldfish with that proelem.iuse take out of the tank into a container with a nuff water to cover him and a air stone so he can sit up rigth to give him time to equalize him sefl. i find water fleas use to help with constiaion. also gold fish are little gluttons.so i feed once a day ever second day.and a enough food that they can eat in five minutes. also give a bit of greens and some dry food as well. a hungry fish a happy fish
jn
I think they sell some food that's specially made for 'fancy' goldfish. I think it sinks slowly so they don't suck in air from the surface if its an ongoing problem.
