markoshark
Well, the base has a crack in it, which means that it is loosing pressure, and not skimming properly - Hence, rubbish . I figure it should be fine to drill the venturi out & block it up with silicone. Anything i should know when trying this? How much flow should I be trying to shove through it? Ira
Why not just fix it? Just rough the plastic up a bit with sand paper and smear on some epoxy.
wasp
With Ira that it could be repaired, however the phosphate reactor idea would also work well. You would probably place a circular sponge or similar above the venturi to make the water flow up through the media evenly and not have a dead spot. Rockerpeller
don't drill the venturi if its the red sea. the venturi just screws out.
markoshark
The ventui is glued in, the crack goes from the bottom of that, right through along to the base. hence why fixing it ain't an option lol
