right well tonight i decided that my tank was filthy so i did a 100%clean of everything in it.Took fish out and put them into a cosy pot, cleaned it all out, removed grotesque number of snails, salt scrubed everything, etc etc... go back to put fish into tank, to discover my mollies have started birthing...

YAY!!!!!!!!!!... followed by,

OH NO... now where am i going to put em?? i only own one tank and one breeder net, i have 3 mollies (a white and 2 sailfins) and a sailfin father, also in the tank is a neon(yes they prefer groups, but this one has been with me from the start of my tank and seems perfectly happy) and a atlum angel. now i also havent got any java moss, since i have been working etc and pet shops in tauranga are useless, and to maybe get some i have to go to hewlits road, petrol in my car sucks, and here i am now with a bunch of mollies wanting to eat thier new borns and IDK WHAT TO DO.....

please help, lol im going to try put the mother i think is birthing into a cut coke bottle bottom with holes for tonight, tomorrow could be interesting >.<

Are the fry surviving? It could be the mother aborted early from the shock of what you have done.

Doing a 100% cleanout is not good. Did this include the filter? If so, your tank is going to have to cycle again so it might be better if the mum and other fish eat the fry as you will trouble keeping any of the fish alive for a while now, let alone the fry.

Just put the fry in the breeding net but don't be surprised if the angel sucks them out through the mesh.

Keep testing daily for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates so you know how the cycle is going. You will need to do daily water changes too if you cleaned out the filter as well.

nar didnt clean out the filter, just took out everythink else and gave it a clean around, i have done this many times before and havent lost a single fish, i only wanted rid of the bloody snails, i left some of the substrate and the filter alone so that it would have the bacteria etc on it...

i just found it funy that she started dropping at the most awkward time, the fry are all fine, there were only 6 of them, 2 got eaten by the angel b4 i put em all back in...

i dunna, i feel guilty now... lol ah well, you live you learn
