coelacanth
I assume you know how big they get? As for tankmates, when small, anything that won't fit in their mouths. When big, anything that won't fit in their mouths. Just need to upgrade their friends.
Milet
Yeah i know how big they get lol. I was talking about tankmates for now, while its still small, and will grow at about same speed? By the way, anyone know how quickly they grow?
caserole
I have never kept them but I got a felling it's quit quick if feed well.

coelacanth
warning: they jump like anything! Make sure there's not even small gaps in the lid coz they'll hit that gap dead on and you'll find it the next morning on the floor. That's my experience
A.PROPHECY
mines about 45cm and growing! hes tanks mates are 65-70cm silver arowana 45cm silver aro 2 large oscars large disticodus and some plecos
coelacanth
like lots of the big predators, they're not aggressive fish, so as long as their tankmates aren't too small they don't bother them. They get really tame too which is nice.
A.PROPHECY
yea mines all good with his tank mates lol its a diferant story when i throw in a bunch of feeders there a tru predator
David R
DATS!!! As coelacanth said, there's a big difference between preaditory and aggressive. I wouldn't try keeping it with any CA cichlids, maybe sevrums, uaru, some geophagus. Big silver dollers, arowana, fire eel, bichir, could all work. My pick would be a group of 4-5 datnoides, and some big syno's for clean up.
northland chic
Our one is about 30cm now, he lives with 3 angelfish, 5 geophagus suri's, 2 Silver dollars, 1 Mytennis, 2 plecos, 1 chocolate catfish (never see it but know its there) and one Clown Syno. I bought about 10 baby silver dollars from the shop and let them grow up in there, he might have had a little go at them but knew he couldn't eat them. I normally find he will be looking for his dinner then just bite what he finds thinking its his bloodworms. I don't really have much problem with him but we've had him since he was tiny and hes always had tankmates. We did have him with oscars but found hes too slow when its dinner time.
