evilknieval69
Yea looks like a leather. (sarcophyton or something i believe) They have polyps that extend from the top and make them look quite nice.
Zev
That would be after it has stopped sulking! Ours took ages before the polyps came out.

cleadus1
haha too fast for me, how long did yours take?
Zev
I think the problem with ours was the water quality, it would show some extension for a few days, then nothing for a while. Since we have put a Deltec skimmer on our system, it very rarely has a sulky day. They are known to shed an outer layer off the top to keep themselves clean. I will see if I can find a pic. evilknieval69
When i first got one it took a couple days to fully come out of its shell so to speak. It was shipped to me over night though

reef
brought this 2day, does this have polyps (if thats what there called) which extend from the top? Make sure they get lots of water flow otherwise they will die.
wasp
Looks like it's been kept under less light than ideal, plus had a few frags chopped of it. Just give it direct light 1/2 way down the tank or so, and medium flow, it can sometimes take a few weeks for these things to come back to their former glory, but you should be rewarded
cleadus1
cool, thanks for the info. i might move it to a higher flow area because i dont think its getting enough flow at the mo to. i will post some pics when it decides to show off a bit. cleadus1
heres a pic of it sheading its skin if anyone is interested...
reef
thats is normal. they can close for a week and then shead skin. normally they come back bigger. That is why you need lots of current so they can remove the sheaded skin. Looks like it is lookig ok.
