Fluffypants
We have 'lost' a cardinal tetra. No body to be seen anywhere. I would have expected to see a floater in the morning or evening when they are fed. Have our other fish eaten it? We have blue danios, siamese algae eaters, GBAs, female siamese fighters and tetras. Whiskas
I think most fish will eat another once it is dead or sometimes even if it is just very sick! I had one disappear that was sick and i had put in a breeding net Look out for the fish-body-snatchers!!!!

Caryl
Yeah, check thoroughly that it isn't stuck somewhere but most likely the other fish have eaten it. A whole fish can disappear overnight.
shell
No suicidal tendencies? I forgot to put the lid properly on the tank overnight last week and found my red tailed shark on the carpet the next morning.
jn
I lost a WCMM once. I had the tank filled quite high and when the pump was off for feeding the water level was above the top of the pump. My tank has a gap between the pump and the bottom of the filter unit that the pump hangs from and the fish had gotten wedged in there. When I turned the pump back on the water level dropped a little (to the top of the pump)... so I was looking for the missing fish in the water and didn't find if for a couple weeks until I wanted to take the pump off to clean it! The fish had dried up!
