Afrikan
have you got any fish that arn't either holding or raising their young? Yes my large pair of Jack Dempseys who seem to talk about it, but I think the male has performance issues

Afrikan
You want to see some of my "Blurs"? I have only ever really fluked the odd good pic  I have a Panasonic 4.0 digital camera and it's not the best, however neither is the photographer (me) I actually almost had a tantrum with trying to photograph my JD's the other day.. something is up with the zoom, as soon as I zoom in the whole pic focus goes blurry and when picture is taken it's a blur. Hubby and I are looking at camera shopping, we were actually discussing it today... might have to purchase something like Billaneys

aae1
Hi Mekhaela. sounds like your tanks are like a baby factory at present. Which variant of Aulonocara jacobfreibergi do you have. Ive got a couple of males and females as well however Im waiting for clarifiaction on species. They look very similar to the "Undu Reef" variant. Would be interested in your thoughts
malawi_man
Well I got some baenschi, jacobs and marble peacocks and I now have 8 baenschi fry - about 10 days since spawning, haven't had them that long, i hope they were in with baenschi males? Congrats mekhaela!! One or 2 of my jacobs aren't eating either, might have to check them out BTW Alex I think they are otter points?
Afrikan
Hi Alex Yeah, they all seem to be doing their thing lately  This lot that recently came in, came in with no listed variant, just straight Jacobfreibergi. My dominant male is colouring nicely. Certainly at this stage looks different to the ones that I saw in pic of OOA's. Dan - What do you mean you hope she was in with Baenschi males, was she carrying when she was sent through with your order?
malawi_man
yes, it was holding when I got it They had been in bgs for 30 hours as well
aae1
Hi Daniel. Why do you think they are otter points? The guys that I have came from OOA. Have you seen what he had?
Afrikan
yes, it was holding when I got it They had been in bgs for 30 hours as well Oh so she got a bit of action before her trip, good on her 8)
malawi_man
well otter point, Boadzulu Is. and Cape Kaiser seem to be the three that the ones that I have look like. I think it might be the Boadzulu Is. I'll have a better look tonight, I have seen OOAs ones a while back I think either Boadzulu Is. or Otter Points. Afrikan
Dan - Wouldn't it be wise to just label the fish what they came in as, which is A. jacobfreibergi (no variant)?
ryanjury
lol and the whole discussion/argument starts again :)

malawi_man
ok then, just a. jacob I have to say that the baenschi are looking better than the jacobs, the biggest male is only about 6cm and is fully coloured, I will try and get pics but they're in a dark tank.
