White spot help!

Ive got a tanks full of goldfish one seemes to have developed white spot during the day

they were all fine this morning when they were fed

he seems to be quite bad and id hate it to spread

ive had no other changes to the tank and they have been in there a while

what do i do?? :cry:

If this is the tank you showed us a pic of the other day, I meant to say I thought it was overstocked but forgot as you were asking about plants or something else at the time.

Whitespot is usually caused by stress - most likely from poor water quality. What are your readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

As above, get your water tested.

If the levels are fine, add a handful of salt, increase the water temp to near 30 degrees, increase airation in the tank & go buy a good whitespot remedy from your lfs. Treat as per bottle instructions. Treat tank for at least a week.

If water conditions are not right you will be doing water change{30-50%} before treatment, day 3 and day 7.

I haven't seen your tank, Caryl can fix up what I wrote, to suit your tank etc.

Thanks alot, ive got one other that has had it just start. Hes now sitting on the bottom. Im going in today to get something for it as i have work. Ive done a 30% water change this morning and hoped that that would help

Can i use just table salt and how much?
