Southerrrngirrl
I have no experience with keeping bettas, I know you can't have two males together, but what about females? We saw gorgeous blue female bettas the other day and hubby wants to get some, but only the females as he doesn't like the fins on the males. Will two females together be ok?? davidb
yep- i heard they can sometimes be a bit scrappy- but they can, and commonly are kept together
Adrienne
Should be fine, great as community fish, I have a tank of females in with platies, swords and catfish.
acara
no problem keeping them together, but keep an eye on long finned species,my females used to get a mouthful of guppy fin and get towed around the tank
meesheelly
I have 4 females and boy boy all together. They hang out together and enjoy each others company, but i guess it depends on the fish
whetu
... i guess it depends on the fish I second that. If you can, choose females that have been brought up in a community tank and/or with other female bettas. If they have been socialised to live with other fish, and have the temprament for it, then they make really good community tank companions. bettabrett
You can keep more than one female in a tank but intoduce other females over a period of time slowly.I keep the new female in a net or breeding box for about 24 hours then let her out with the other fish and watch carefully sometimes they will have a tussle but if its not anything too serious just leave them
