Milet
Hey anyone and everyone. I live in Christchurch, and i was jsut wondering if i need to add water ager to the water? since the water here doesnt seem as chlorinated as other cities. thankies! dogmatix
In CHCH i would say so, i imagine there is a high conc of CL due to run off from the avon (i may be wrong), if you use a water purifier with a carbon block then no you dont need to add ager
Milet
Oh for real? You know how much a water purifier costs?
smidey
i would say that public water supplies would have to be chlorinated by law or regulation.
Milet
Ohok. I was just asking because you can clearly tell difference between tasting Christchurch water and other cities water. I have only tried kaikouras water, and its more chlorine than water But yeah..
alanmin4304
There are four artesian aquafers under Christchurch and the water supply comes straight from the second or third aquafer without any added anything (we are conserving them for the rest of the country) Water ager---no thanks. Adrienne
I agree - Christchurch water is great, as pure as. Was brought up there. Used to show horses and its a well known fact among people taking horses to the Christchurch A&P show from out of the area usually truck in their own water as animals that aren't used to the water at the show grounds find it too cold (and pure). herefishiefishie
I miss the ChCh water. I remember the first shower I had here. I thought I was in a swimming pool the smell of chlorine was that bad. Frenchy
alanmin4304
It is a bit like the pinapple chunk add on TV. God created Christchurch and gave it artesian water and greywacke gravel for fish keepers. All that was left was traffic jams and wind. Dunedin must have come later. jude
And for those living outside of Christchurch who find water ager too expensive - you can always age the water naturally by leaving it in a bucket for a day or two
