robert
Hi i am in the prosess of replacing my ehim pro 2, i have a discus tank around 350 liters, the aqua 2200 seem to be getting good press here.I am concerned about just how strong the flow will be, does it do the 2200 liters an hour after the media goes in and after its been working for while or is it full on all the time.I dont want to much current for the fish but do want a clean tank.Any advise would be well recived. sharn
as far as i am aware most filters are rated before media is added with the exception of a few brands which have an approx after being filled. i would take a couple hundred lph off it once its full up depending on what you put in it. do they have spray bars or the plain outlet like the fluvals? if it has a spray bar you can just face that back at the glass to diffuse the flow
Johannes Visser
I replace my Eheim pro 2 with a aqua 2200, and did not note much difference in water output, It also depends on Head height.( Tank Height) I got a 400l tank and I would fit two aqua 2200 filters If I could.
Aquarium Dude
I thought head height did not apply for canister filters?
Ira
It doesn't, unless the outlet is above water level they're running at 0 static head.
