fishtv
I Went away for the long weekend with the light on a timer and dropped two weekenders tabs into my 160l tank having been ensured they would all be fine. I came home to 2 dead Bristlenose's Everyone else is fine? Anyone know what it could be? The red spot and older bristlenose seem fine? HELP? evilknieval69
So how long did you go away for? fish can last for a week without food quite comfortably. Alot can last even longer. I personally would never stick a weekend block into my tank. No need. Man im glad to have a mum into fish and knows how to feed them all (and i trust with all my fish 8) )
jim r
Sad news indeed like Evil said I wouldn't feed them anything better they starve.
fishtv
I went away friday and came home tuesday morning. Why are the bristlenoses affected and nothing else?
evilknieval69
Bristlenoses probably sucked on the blocks and got something weird out of them. The other fish could just pick away at the food inside of it.... Maybe why?? :-? :-?
Caryl
Never tried a weekend tab so don't know what it is (I know what you mean but don't know how they are made and of what) but I suspect they were the problem and, as said, the plecs got to them directly. For such a short time I would not have fed them anything. I regularly go away for a week at a time and do not feed the fish during that time. Never lost one yet, although they are pleased to see me  My tank is very mature, heavily planted, and understocked. Not feeding for a week is not something I would suggest otherwise. evilknieval69
I could leave the fish in my planted tank for months and there would be enough crap on the bottom for them too feed on
fishtv
Thanks heaps guys! Ive just started to plant out my tank, have started with 2 good sized fibre optic hair grass and am tracking down some java moss and indian fern. Will they be ok over a long weekend in this tank? GZ_Loach
why dont you just chuck in some cucumber instead of the fake comercial crap? lasts the same time and its good for them
Freakyfish
I wouldnt leave cucumber or any Veges in there to long As Long as they are eating it quickly you should be fine Vegs will still go off underwater and quicker then usualy due to the warmer temp.
