Maelgrim
Typically all the sump bubble traps I have seen are over under over. Would under over under work as well ? The reason I ask is that for my existing sump it would give me more room due to position of an existing partition.
evilknieval69
I cant see why it wouldn't work.
suphew
Nah will work better if it's the correct way around, you need to force the bubbles to the surface, if you go under first it will keep sucking the bubbles down.
JDM
i have over-under working in my sump, takes up the same room as having it the other way and i can say the over-under should work. (cos it dose in my sump).

KP
Will work great, what is the size of the baffles? Remember the bigger the baffles the better

Maelgrim
well put in the over under over baffle. Still getting a crapload of micro bubbles, the Skimmer is pumping out heaps (reef octopus). I am thinking of putting some filter mesh in baffle pocket to try and trap them. davidb
i have an over under over and I have packed the last area between the under and the over with live rock... If the last over is close enough to the sump water line you won't get a waterfall effect over the last baffle and I have no problems at all with bubbles
Maelgrim
good idea, except the water level is quite alot lower so I do get a waterfall whcih pushes the bubbles down and towards the return pump. Don't want to take the sump down again
reef
can the outflow of the skimmer go into a big container etc. this way the water should overflow over the container and hopfully less bubbles will go towards the mainpump.
