smidey
Hi all, I purchased a one foot tank & various other hardware a year or so ago that we used as a tester which seeded the bug for the fish keeping hooby with me & my family. i have tidied up & found a shark filter which has IP68 number on it. can anyone tell me how the media works in this filter? it has a oval "tank" on the bottom with a grated type area on the front bottom of it that where the water obviously enters a small comparment at the front of the tank & a round part at the back. this may sound odd but i guess someone that has used one will know what im on about. tee-em
It sucks in water from the bottom, the bottom round section has a rotating sleeve that acts to control inlet volume. The water is then expelled along the top slit. You should be able to buy media at your Local Fish Shop. Or cut your own out of any filter media. Found the manufacturers web site read more here http://www.sicce.com/prodotti.php?fam_prodotti=0&id_sez=6&id=
Fishy_Lips
Hi there did you manage to find the parts you were after I'm pretty sure that there is also an add on carbon part whch just clicks in magnetically (probably not a real word) to the filter part. Caryl
Sometimes I put 2 small sponges in mine and sometimes I use half sponge half noodles.
Aquarium Dude
I have a shark 400 and went in to buy the extra filter compartment, I thought it was great to be able to get so much media in. BUT I got it home and found my tank is not high enough for the filter with extra compartment. In mine I use blue sponge on the bottom and white finer sponge on top. smidey
thanks all, i must have the standard small compartment. i have filter wool for my hood & canister filters, will this be ok? & i guess the back area will be ok for ceramic noodles? Caryl
The filter wool be ok but will clog quickly which is why the sponges are better. I sat the noodles on the bottom and a sponge on top.
