mat692
Ive currently got a clown Knife in with an O, 3 jewels, 2 large plecos, one female con and a whole lot of B/n, one GBA and was wondering if it would be ok to add a Black ghost knife theyre all in a 1000l and currently get along (feeding time sometimes brings out the fight in them but otherwise sweet! Also would putting in another female con be ok ( had a male but as soon as it settled in in was hassleing my clown  ) had to pull out all the rocks and do a bit of holding my breath to catch him
Lucid
you will prob find that if you add another female convict that you will have no probs at all, as any hassling will than likely be between the cons. We had two males in a cichlid setup and had no probs, they had the occasional biffo with each other but other than that they were fine. Gannet
ballistic, they already have 1 female, and want another female so no beading can happen.

mat692
thanks thats what I thought no breeding no fighting.. HOW BOUT the knifes?
sharn
id say no. while the clown and BGK might be fine (havent read of them being mixed before so dont know how they would go but the clown gets alot larger than the BGK) the BGK probably wont do so well with the O and maybe the cons if theyre nasty. if the BGK gets picked on he will run and the cichlids will chase and that will equal a stressed fish that really cant fight back. also any extra bio load (even though it wont be much lol) will mean more maintenence and possible compatibility problems while your gone
candy
I would say a big NO to that one. being an owner of both a BGK and a clown ( diffrent tanks) the BGK is a bit of a girl and has problems finding his food and there is only one other fish in the tank . The clown on the other hand seems peacefull but has chassed our arowana ..so thats saying something. when it comes to knifes they realy need to be in a tank with as little compitition for food as possible as they wont fight for food and you will find u will have to hand or target feed them. knife fish need to be kept stressfree otherwise they can get sick and sick fast and its not cool trying to treat that much water. This is only personal opinion but its normaly said that you should only keep one knife fish to tank unless u have a huge tank as they like to hold large territories and are messy eaters. personaly i love knife fish but i think you need to give them some special treatment to bring out the best in them.. also a quiet tank will mean the knife comes out more in the light. Hazara
My overfed clown used to try & take bites out of tinfoil barbs that were 3/4 the length of the clown - When we got a kitten I swear the clown just sat there staring at the kitten, waiting for it to get closer... Also sometimes I swear it was eyeing me up for a bite when I was fluffing around in the tank. Funny enough - the only tank mate that really was okay was a hoplo cat like mystic - those little buggers are tanks. I have heard of black ghosts sucking eyes out of other fish while they're asleep - not sure if this was an isolated incident or not.
