Caryl Posted December 2, 2006 Report Share Posted December 2, 2006 My son's angel pair have been a bit rough and one has red and white fungus at the base of one pectoral fin and now swims with a distinct lean. alanmin4304 Posted December 4, 2006 Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 I have never used melafix and probably never will. Fungus is usually opportunistic and will follow another problem which is more than likely bacterial. I would be tempted to hold the fish in a wet net and swab the area with a mixture of straight methylene blue and malachite green taking care to keep it from running into gills or eyes. I would do that a few times a day for a few days in a seperate tank. The extra build up in that tank wont do any harm either. The other option would be furan 2 and swab with methylene blue.
