Rozski
thats YOUR tank? One word....awesome! And your taking it all down? How could you? Although I have to admit if you put the same effort into your planted tank I will be first in line to admire
reef
Thanks. I am not taking my reef tank down, just going to setup a new 400L corner tank. Pretty much will be a hight tec planted tank with underfloor heating , co2 gear and looks like metal halide is the way to go. fantastic web site this http://showcase.aquatic-gardeners.org/2006.cgi?&op=showpage&name=view-showcase How come no one from NZ is on it? We must have some tanks that would rate with these. I might do something like this, can we get all these plants in NZ. 1 Ludwigia inclinata var verticillata "cuba", 2 Rotala macaranda, 3 Heteranthera zosterifolia, 4 Hemianthus micranthemoides, 5 Ludwigia inclinata, 6 Hygrophila difformis, 7 Hygrophila corymbosa species, 8 Hygrophila polysperma, 9 Barclaya longifolia, 10 Echinodorus magdalenensis, 11 Nuphar japonica, 12 Cabomba caroliniana, 13 Hydrocotyle leucocephala, 14 Anubias barteri var. angustifolia

jude
I don't know that I'd class mine as outstanding but I'm working on it. evilknieval69
Well, to be honest, my favourite tank on these forums (that i know of) Is antwans tank when it looked like this... I loved it!!
shiuh
hi heather...what is that big green plant you have in the middle of the tank? looks stunning!!! also...what kind of lighting are running?
heather
The top picture is the left half of the tank with some sort of Amazon Sword (it currently has a big flower spike poking about 15cms out of the tank at the moment - dint have a pic yet). The bottom picture is the right half of the tank with a java fern tied onto the log with nylon. It used to be twice as big but gave it a big pruning a few weeks ago. The other plants are straight vallis, dwarf vallis and hairgrass. The only lights I have are two 36w 6500k Phillips flourescents. They are on from 9.30 to 9.30. There are another two flourescents the same in the hood but they arn't working (I need to take them apart and redo the wiring). There is also a fair bit of sunlight from 4pm to 7pm. I really really really need to rehome the redspot to get it looking really good though or at least to where i'm happy with it.
