Hazara
Hi there, I just want either some help (where to find info to do it myself) or someone with the skills just to do it for me..... I'm just trying to calculate how many litres my BOWFRONT tank holds... Here's a rough drawing with the dimensions: The part without the bow was easy enough about 137 litres... but the bow has me stumped. (not to scale) Thanks in advance people! Rozski
lol, I'll pass on the maths and say fill it up with 137 litres, then add litre by litre until you know how much it holds
Hazara
Heh, I'm not that keen to find out how much it holds - it takes too long just to do a 1/3 water change. I keep forgetting to mark a line on the tank and count how many buckets does what.
evilknieval69
There is a very good calculator i found a little while ago here By the measurements you have given, its says 209.7 Litres HTH
Hazara
Absolute Legend - Thankyou very much for that - And I've bookmarked that page. Your right - I had done some searching but didn't find a calculator that good. Looks like the 130 litre I'd thought it was was a little off
Freakyfish
I myself would work on 175L as you will lose some from gravel and rocks as well as you wont fill it right to the top Your 138 litres was full right to the top without the bow which was a correct calculation I worked it out from roughly guessing the bowfront bows evenly out to the max width so main tank 123x45x25 =138L and the bow 123x45x19 = 105L though this should be about half this as it bows That equals 190L which losing approx 10% for gravel leaves just over 170L Brad
evilknieval69
Your totaly welcome. I posted it in the technical section a little while ago, but had no replys or anything  Its good because it has so many different tank shapes and for marine people it alows for sumps, fuges, rock, sand and everything else you can think off
