evil_elmo
hi just wondering if anyone use one of these? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Pe ... 070159.htm i'm sick of hearing bubbling noises and i find it takes forever for the brine shrimp to hatch if not heated just wondering if this kit is anything special or good

alanmin4304
They have been around for many years and work but not as well as a heated, lit, aerated system. They are probably good if you only need a little bit and you dont mind wasting eggs.

shiuh
yea...agree...hatch rate is so much better with DIY bottle unit. you can hatch more this way while you are "heavily breeding"
Discusguru
They are a waste of time and a rip off. jmo ron

Alan
Is the hatch rate low because of those stupid little BS eggs baggies WITH salt?? Probably not stored correctly in the first place. Or has someone tried them out with "fresh" eggs stored in the frig?? Also with NSW?? Alan

Alan 104 i've tried with fresh eggs but only with ASW not natural. i think its the lack of water movement and aeration more than anything. alanmin4304
I think it is lack of aeration and also no provision for heating
alanmin4304
There is also a shallow tray one about which is about as useful

AMAZONIAN
Hell..................... The toy makers are certainly making a "Good Quid" at the hobbyists expense. You dont need a toy to hatch "Brine Shrimp" a 1.5 or 2Ltr FIZZY DRINK bottle with an airstone is all you need. Cost...........................$2.50 plus whatever "spirits" you choose to put with the Fizzy. FORGET THE TOYS, THEY ARE JUNK.
