Hi, I’m wondering if anyone can help me locate some Demasoni (Pseudotropheus demasoni) for my cichlid tank, I'm Auckland based. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They have gone of the wholesale list according to all the shops ive asked we have 7 and hope to breed them as do a few other people on here so unless you can find someone who wants to sell theres maybe wait until everyones bred them..

yeah i would also like to get some more, we brought 6 and have had 2 mysteriously disappear so kinda gutted, first fish's we have lost in age's too.

We had 8 but lost 1 apparently they kill each other off if you have less than 12 because they're really aggressive dont know if thats what happened to it or if it got eaten (as they're in with other africans that are alot bigger than them) who knows, they always have shreaded fins from fighting, one had a huge sore on one side of it and was swimming weird and I thought it was a gonner but it seems to have healed up and only has a scar to show for it.. So they're pretty tough.

We will probably keep a few babies and build up our colony first hopefully we have a few more females in our lot that breed soon as they dont have many babies..

I had the same problem lost one mysteriously and am down to 3 2 male 1 female I think theyre still pretty young though.

Watch them then from what ive heard anything less than 6-8 (in some peoples advice even upto 12) ends up being one.. Our 7 seem to be going alright mind you they're not even an inch yet and in a 540litre 5ft so they have alot of room to hide..

ours are in our grow out tank with about 50 e.yellows and 20 kenyi and 2 ice blues and havent seem them fighting at all

lol your lucky Ours scrap like theres no tomorrow 2 or 3 always have ripped fins and thats in a 5ft full of rocks they're awesome little guys.

We used to have them in a grow out tank as well but decided to just chuck them in with the big fish so they could fend for themselves...

knowing my luck we will ned up with 4 males or 4 females lol gonna be chucking about 40 bumble bees and 40 auratus in the grow out tank this weekend so gonna need to move some of them on this week.

i was hoping ryan might come through - but it looks like a wait is on the cards. I'm new to african cichlids and all i've told about these are... they are aggressive and the smaller they are the better they may get on with the other fish.

Yeah they were only on the list for a short time luckily a few people on here got colonies From my research they aren't aggressive to other fish just to their own kind or anything the same colour so they shouldn't have too many problems..
