Zoban
Well it is actually too early yet to be overly concerned on genders but wanted to ask the easiest way to sex these lil fellas or umm gals. Have aquired two of them about 2 inches long each. This pic rather blurry but figured share anyway.

Caryl
The males grow curved bristles along the top lip and a thin line of them up the middle of their heads. The females are wider, bigger, and have very short straight bristles along the top lip (if at all).
Tanksman
That looks like either a male or a female Feed it up on zuchinni and other good stuff - don't treat it as the cleanup crew. They start developing bristle's around 3 inches or 18 mths old.
fishboi
yep pretty much what everyone is saying just with the bristles. should be easily sexed at 2 inches dont have to wait till 3 inch most adults dont even get to that size. these are plenty big enough to breed now
Zoban
Thank You for your replies and confirmed what I was thinking on the Bristles and being male. At this point I can see tiny lil Bristles on the one the second has been difficult at best to get a good look at though. I do treat the pleco to cucumber as well, having a garden helps Didn't think they would be breeding ready as yet though, may have to look into that part soon then I thought. Zoban
Should I be looking at caves at this point and what size cave for these lil guys would you suggest. Will try and get a better pic of them too as I would like to figure out the exact L### that they are for own curiosity as I see a lot of Ancistrus with different L###'s when I try and lookup the info on them. Caryl
My boy My girl Bristlenoses make caves in and under logs or in anything else they can find. They don't need much space, just enough for dad to be able to fan the eggs.
