Wok
The warehouse sells pond liner. and pump too. but that all depends on how big your pond is.
moronNZ
sorry for the vague description... I am looking for pond netting like the one here by tetra...not the hard plastic/metal meshes at mitre10. I bought my old pond netting at JASENS for my 4mx2m pond 6 years ago, but JASENS no longer stocks it now....I have trouble finding similar substitutes....I am concerned with the upcoming summer...My pond was cleaned up twice before by a heron and a kingfisher..... moronNZ
thanks for the reply...I think I will try to get it from overseas... A kingfisher has showed up, but it doesn't seem to be interested in my goldfish at all...I have two photos of this tiny little bird..lol
Alan
and do you really think it is going to sit their with that stupid smile and not have an ulterior motive?? Rig some thin fishing line over the pond.It stops them from doing the DIVE. Alan
minchton
From what I understand most garden centres stock netting of this type. The only thing to watch out for is quality of the netting. Some types have only a single strand which breaks down very quickly. There is a type that we buy locally that has a double twisted stand and this lasts very well. It also has the advantage that it can be stretched tight. IOU1
Sorry I can't be much help to your question, but an awesome picture of the kingfisher Good luck!!!
Kazz
Payless Plastics has bird netting which is black and doesn't show up as much as the white stuff. If you're buying the netting off a roll by the metre allow extra as when you stretch it out sideways it shrinks up in the length. I bought 5m to cover a 4m pond and when i stretched it over the pond it was to short.
Zev
Wait until the Kingfisher gets one of your fish and bashes it to death on your washing! They used to do that to our clothes line with mice!
whetu
I've seen the soft black mesh at King's Plant Barn. Not sure how wide it is though. Might pay to give them a call (I saw it at the one in St Lukes Rd, Auckland but I assume all outlets will have it)
