wasp
You better post up what you're doing. IE, water temp, ca levels, NSW or ASW, all that stuff. Can't argue with success, a lot of people will want to know how you do it.
KP
Although the photos look great, it looks even better in person. It has come a long way

puttputt
You better post up what you're doing. IE, water temp, ca levels, NSW or ASW, all that stuff. Can't argue with success, a lot of people will want to know how you do it. Ok, not much to it really.. Levels.. Ca - 460ppm Alk - 9.6 Dkh (Ca Reactor did keep it steady at 10.5, but with the growth and amount of stonies at present, slowly dropped to 7, so now dosing Kalk as topup water and has come up nicely) Mg - 1300 Temp - 26.5 - 27.5 Nitrate and Phos - both unmeasurable using salifert kits. Ph - 8.2 (dropped to 7.8/8.0 when I cranked reactor up, but again Kalk bought it back nicely) Salinity - 1.026 - refractometer Lights 3 X 400w 14K SE plus luminarc type reflector. (Corals growing and colouring well under previous Arcadia 14K 250w unit, but as I love the acros, want better spread, and more to the point, better penetration so I can keep acros on or near the bottom) I run Bare Bottom, with a seperate Refugium which i would not be without. Ref has a SSB, live rock bits and pieces, macro algae (when it grows) and pods, worms, flatworms , etc. Heaps of flow - although I would like more, as corals grow and inhibit flow. All top up or water change water is RoDi which I moniter TDS, in and out. Topup water is saturated with Lime and automatically topped up at night. (finally - Thanks Steve) I use ASW -Red sea salt, and change 120l per week. Its seems like a good salt, although low in Ca and Alk. I dose CaCl and MgCl when needed to keep levels high (bulk from Med Chem) Feed fish mainly Dry flakes and pallets. Once or Twice a week I give them a treat of Frozen Mysis. Corals fed Pohls Coral Vitaliser, ex ZeovitNZ, every second day. Don't dose anything else - no aminos, vodka, zeobits and pieces (other than CV), strotium, trace elements etc. Anything I've missed?? wasp
Just curious, did you see better health / growth after you started dosing kalkawasser?
puttputt
I think so Wasp, water seems a bit clearer, Growth is great... Subjective really, but I'd say yes.
