Luke* has it growing very well, we gave him a fistful or so and its covered half a four? footer now at the front. he has co2, a 400W metal halide and all the fancy bits that go along with planting  it seemed to change its leaf size a bit since being in the tank, theyve gotten larger which was interesting to see

Yeah it grows very well under Metal Hallide, not sure if it's totally necessary though as I've only ever had it under MH lighting. You can see my mattress of it here: http://www.fnzas.org.nz/fishroom/lukes- ... 14989.html I plan to grow it out to cover the whole bottom of the tank.

It's similar to riccia, but it has some major benefits. It forms a thick mat and once settled it does not float up to the top and take hours to replant. It has roots, so doesn't have to be tied down to anything. You can put your gravel vacuum over the top and plumb it lightly to suck up any detritus that has settled over it. Fish can nibble on it and clean the leaves (e.g SAEs) and it won't become unstuck and rise to the top. It's NZ native :)
