Southerrrngirrl
My LFS has fish which they call Golden Sucking Cats. I want to find out more information about them, I assume they go by another name, but the people at the LFS don't know any other names for them. Anyone else know?? Cheers

Southerrrngirrl
They appear to be algae eaters. They suck on the side of the glass and stuff, but they're not shaped like a pleco

Southerrrngirrl
Yes thats them!! I did like them but read a few things about them, they can become more aggressive and less effective for eating algae as they age?

Tsarmina
i have 2 chinese algae eaters (almost identical to the golden ones) that have grown up together. they do not attack each other or any of my other fish. they have become less effective against the algae since they have grown. i do know of a situation where a gae has taken a chunk out of another, about the size of a 5c piece. i believe it depends entirely on the fish as to how they behave and you can never really be certain of how that will be.
