Thats just speculation though isn't it ? both that the LFS might have advised the buyer, and that he would have lied. It does not change the fact that if the LFS's had a display card for each type of fish with relevant info, it would be a useful service to customers, of potential benefit to the welfare of the fish they sell, and would also cover their butts in scenarios such as this one, where they might be considered in part to blame.

I think the place where it was bought has to shoulder some of the blame here too though, don't you guys ? After all, if a fish info card was visible for fish on offer in a LFS then people might learn about their fish and buy smarter in the first place. He can't take all the blame here.

I have a standard 2foot tank set up for some baby africans I am getting and in it is a 100w heater. Its set to 26degrees and it seems like the damn think is on nearly all the time !! The ambient temp varies between 16 at night and maybe 22 during the day. I am wondering if there is anything wrong with it ? Your thoughts would be welcome.

Well either way I know you will advise people what they have, but I agree with your thoughts about not mixing them. Also, if they are two different strains it will be nice for both to be available seperately

Will you be keeping the two strains seperate or mix-breeding from them ? What would the result be, some with 7 and some with 6 stripes ?

Just a question about these poly pads that are supposed to remove ammonia - if you have them in the tank, surely the filter will never get started as the bacteria will not have anything to feed on and therefore the filter wont ever get up and running enough to support the fish you are putting in?

Hi - I have bought a tank which has a pretty hard-stuck coating of green algae on it that will take some effort removing - are the green kitchen pot scourers too hardcore for tank glass ? I dont want to scratch the glass. Any suggestions ?

That kind of makes a mockery of the fact that the ones that are already here, are allowed ! Surely logic (yes yes I know they don't display much at times) would suggest that if there are LGs in the country already, legally, then whats the difference of importing more !? Ah I see, sorry Alan, must have misunderstood what you meant - when you wrote "Applying is easy but paying for the research and paper work is the challenge" I didnt think you had realised he was talking about getting 50 people together to pay for it. I would think that if you managed to get 50 people together then the paying for it would not be a problem (assuming they paid up front and didnt start pulling out I suppose) - its getting the people in the first place, that I would imagine would be the issue.

I think what he is saying is that with 50 people all putting a bit in then the cost would be a lot less ? Essentially that ought not to be as challenging. I would imagine finding the 50 would be the hard part, lol.
