ovr here in US...im pretty sure they dont sell rock unless they are artificial....like isnt there another way i can clean them....

oh i forgot to ask yall... What if i wanna add rocks...should i clean them n such and how would i clean themm...would i have to boil them...like i would for gravel?

yea....i guess i do need some NZ education but guess what....the switch of the tank was a SUCCESS :) .... i have already started adding 'cycle' to it and im also using some other kind of amonia/chlorine killer ..the guy at my local pet store said i should use a very hardy fish as a "test" fish...though i think thats very mean to do :evil: ....but anyways....all is going well.....i didnt get that "before" picture....ill just show you how big the tank is through pic...and then ill post my new one....i havnt added decorational stuff like big rocks....plants...so on so on... hmmmmm, theres like...thousands of mini-dots all over my tank :-? ....dont know if they are air bubbles or what? but...ill get those pics up soon

ok...i got the product 'cycle' over a PetSmart(which yall may nvr of heard of)...and i got 25lbs of new gravel....im getting the 20 gallon long tank on wednsday and im setting it up on thursday.....i took a before picture and as soon as it is all set up ill take a after picture and how you guys like the change....not to mention i can then buy more fish since its a large wider tank

no i am not trying to pull your legs here....i really did not have time for fish before...now i do.....and actually im going to the petstore today...im going to get a new 20 gallon LONG fish tank instead of tall....before i wasnt going to but it turns out that i have found my wallet(finaly) which has almost 100$ and so im going to buy a new tank....new gravel...im gonna buy that 'cycle' stuff cause it looks like it will help alot....and some other stuff i might use..... i think im all set to do this tank transfer....but...all i have to figure out it how to make my tank look all professional like all your like....would you prefer my to use plastic plants....or...live?

so 'cycle' is a way to give my tank good bacteria quickly? ill look it up at my local fish store...thnk you...i plan on putting the new gravel in this weekend....prob. sunday....on saturday im going to go buy the gravel

that plan sounds great and all...but i dont think my fish will survisve that long in a pale...hmmm...i think i should replace the gravel right? then take the old gravel...do your idea with it...and put it in a bag in case i ever need it again....what if i wanna keep the good bacteria but wanna get new gravel....would replacing gravel effect the bacteria?

ya know i try....n besides....i kinda dont wanna b poor when i grow up anyways....i wonder if they allow fish at colleges ....probably.... yes i know that stuff ...i learned that stuff the hard way...but i think things will work out for the best(i always wanted to say that)

wassup...im gir....you may have seen some of the posts i have already made......im 14....yes i am in highschool, i live in the USA.....my hobbies are pets(fishies and 1 gecko)(my brother wants to experiment and wants me to put the gecko in with the fish ) games(of course....all teens need games) and school cause im sooper smart and i dont like my dad yelling at me so i try my best in it.

It was a dojo loach....it looks like he had some kind of disease...his top fin has been eatin away at and that sort....i got him cause he interested me by the way he looks like a snake or eel...and i heard they do a good job of cleaning the bottom of your fish tank.. "multi-Tank-Syndrome" yea i wish ....i cant get much more fish tanks in my room cause i dont have any more room for them,......i mean like....i got one 10 gallon fish tank, 3 dressers...TV, Sterio on 1 dresser, a leopard gecko on the other dresser....to top it all off i got a queen sized bed so yea...i dont think i can fit much more in ther...i wish i had a smaller bed...then maybe id be able to get another fish tank.....anyways..yes ill go to the welcome section....and im not going to try another loach...ill go for a medium sized pleco

i unno...im just always very busy doin stuff....considering i almost flunks the last grade of middle school...and like...to me my dad would literally kill me if i was held back so....i was always so worried.....n then...after a week of highschool my dad was pissed off at me n all that...and said...id never bring my E back up.....but i showed him....he kept telling me...."forget it, just flunk the class"...but i showed him and now he literally hasnt spoken to me since....and for those who dont know how long that has been, its been around 2 months...i mean like...i dont even think he was happy for me......ah well....i brung my grades up to all Bs(even the E i had which it that case i had 6 classwork assignments wich i got E's on/....) and crap...so i just a lot of stress and stuff....but now....evrythings O.K....if anyone doesnt know....E=F Flunking grade...so yea thats why...i was always busy..i nvr played games or anything.....just work and studying

unfortunantly the hospital tank i set up and the remedies i had were not enough for the loach...the loach died *sigh* .....thats a reason why i wanna do that tank switch......everything will b healthy again...no more dirty gravel...algie or anything *sigh* geez....he was a good loach too

i only have one bin....i nvr go to home depot....if i go in ther...id get lost in seconds....i prob. only need 2 bins total...so i only need to buy 1 bucket/bin thx...oh....my mom said no boiling stones.....does this mean i should just go out and buy some new gravel....maybe even a new bottom gravel filter flooring thingy(i cant remember what yall call them)

1: i have no clue what LB means... 2: the golden on doesnt have any spots like the blue gourami does...it actually has black, vertical strips....now i bought a very good fish book ages ago and it says that if a female fish is pregnant...than it has vertical stripes...but i cant be to sure..the belly of the golden on isnt really big so i cant say for sure... 3:that " long= male /short= female" that doesnt exist to me right now cause yall are also saying "pointy=male/ round= female" well...the golden one i have to say has long but round fins...only the top one tho...and the blue fish has short but pointy....very strange.....and that book is= http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0394729854/qid=1106941491/sr=8-3/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i3_xgl14/002-0350434-4170472?v=glance&s=books&n=507846 thats the book i have...it has lots of info on breeding...setting up tanks....cleaning tanks, ect...... anyhow...it says nothing about red eyes= males.....ill look into furthur information about red eyes and figure that out.... ive nvr heard of a color morph...does that mean that that fish was meant to be blue but become gold colored instead? or like....you know how some ppl r right handed and some a left...is it like that or something? i dont have a seperate tank axcept for a vry small one...almost like a 2 gallon tank tall....if they start breeding should i put them it ther? and if so should i cover up the glass so that they dont gain stress(i heard doing this for fish while breeding helps them) that sounds as if its vry rare....is it? im no fish expert at all...but from the looks of the info ppl can give me in seems like you all are...plus...im definitly not a breeding expert...i havnt even tried breeding before

yes someone does./..my brother does cause my mom nvr wanted me to get fish and my dad doesnt care...considering my brother is 1 grade higher than me, he got out of school earliers....i payed him to feed my fish because i didnt have enough time..though...my dad does feed the fish if me and my brother have to go away for a lil while.....i have 3 filters set up...2 are the same kind and 1 is one of the under gravel filter...i had a 4th when i was in middle school so i didnt have to clean the tank out as often but i dont have much room for the forth now...

wow i bet you i have a 1 percent chance of doing that.....what should i do with the fish....how will this effect them? i only have 1 tank not 2....other than i 1 gallon that my bro doesnt use....and i think a 1 gallon tank is a little small....their territory and stuff would be invaded

No you dont get what my father is like...with him i find it impossible to do anything that i wanna do but anyhow...it was loads of algie..but not no more.... now that i actually have the time to take care of the fish i have, now i can actually do this... and i think you missed the point...im not planning on setting up another....i want to replace the tank i have with a bigger and already much cleaner one now dont get me wrong im trying to take care of them the best of my ability now that i do have time on my hands.....im trying to keep these guys alive the best i can too.... anyways....because this is happening...i always like to have 1 bottom feeder...would anyone recommend having a pleco cause those look like they do a good job cleaning...and can get pretty big too

yea but the 20 gallon will b longer than the 10 gallon tank right now....maybe about 3 inches....plus its cleaner....by the way...about boiling those rocks....what if i dont take the tank and want to boil them anyways...how do i do that?

yes i do vacuum the gravel when i clean...its like the only way i know about cleaning it..,.i have an under-the-gravel thingy...um....filter(yea thats the word)....and that is cool....but after every vacuum theres still a lot more left and i keep doing it and doing it but it nvr helps cause it keeps coming...my algie...i have a razor blade.....i divide the tank into two sections.....i put all the fish in one side so i dont hurt any by mistake and a scrape the algie off....but i mean like....i got tons..... over feeding= I NEVER FEED THE FISH lol yesterday was the first day in almost 2 months that i fed them....just because i have more time on my hands I get out 2 hours early from highschool?= im comparing it to when i get outta highschool to when i got out of middle school
