the tank is going great. It is just like a underwater jungle now. I have since upgraded to a 6kg cylinder. The o-ring is completely worn off. The plastic seal doesn't quite do the job. I have probs with leaks from all over. Thx

Hi, I am looking for the right planted tank substrate. Someone actually suggested Dalton aquatic mix and propgating sand. My concern with that is would it alters the PH of the water. Getting the substrate from the fish shop would cost quite a bit. Has anyone used the Dalton's mix? Look forward to hearing from you. Ed

There is an aqua-medic distributor in Leigh. And he can get you a cheaper regulator with integrated needle valve, bubble counter, and a 350g cylinder for $323. His name is Barry Torkington. The problem with him is half the time he is in US but he is a very nice guy. Check out the website www.aqua-medic.de look him up under dealers section. He is still in America at the moment and should return in 2-3 weeks time. By the way what kind of gravel do you use in you planted tank. Hope this help

thanks Doc for your reply. I called Organism yesterday and they are currently out of Tenellus. Hopefully they will be able to get some in early feb. Seems like Tenellus is rare in NZ. Ed
