Did you read the front of the box or the instructions that came with the unit? You may find it is designed for aquariums up 170liters. I use them in my 165liter aquarium and the dose is 1 table everysecond day. I have a Co2 test kit but it does not register on this. The holder contains 100ml of gas so not sure if you would need two and dose every second day or dose one tablet each day. I experiment originally with the tablets in a coke bottle weighted in the tank and the hole was only big enough to get a pill in. The gas only lasted about 2 hours. In the proper container the gas last 6 hours. interesting! My tank is an Ar850 so the water is sprayed out into the filter on top and cascades back into the tank so plenty of oppurtunity for the gase to come out. My plants do like the tablets they are looking good especially with the water consantly cascading. $13 for 20 pills = 40 days of treatment. I prefer this to DIY CO2 as it is more consistant and alot less maintainence. Cheers I will tell you about my findings of soda stream one day and the troubles I had.

Yip pain in the butt. I have just rewired my tank lights(qualified Elect.)AR850. I put 2 ballasts in and moved one end of each fitting along. I use 20w now.When a bulb goes I can now just buy another Cheers

Well I have had mine for a week now. Big pottle of it I have used wind/shade cloth to cover 3 river stones and made a pouch and put the rest in to create a lawn. It is starting to grow through the mesh Thanks

I think it all started back when I reduce my air curtain so I could try DIY c02. The val is growing back I have brough some more plants and am trying the sera co2 pills from tonight instead of Flurish excel. Will keep you posted how it all goes on another thread in a week or so Or when I see a change. Mike

Just currious you guys have discus in community tanks what temp do you have the tanks at. I read somewhere they like 84 F which is well above my community tank temp. Thanks

Hi from Taupo I have a lot of trouble trying to get short plants for the front of the tank. Can get plenty of big ones for the back. I only use fluroish and plant food so have got cambodia(spelling) and twisted val at the moment that handles the condititons. I have some raccia coming next week so will see how that goes with flurish. Just cleaned out a heap of java moss it was always very dark. Not sure if this was a result of using only flourish. It will be good to get some data on plants that grow well with flourish if people do only use this rather than c02 Thanks Mike

Maybe it is my fault but BBA Black beard algae is what you are talking about Blue /green is the cynobacteria type I have. I got the above . slimey type

I have just used furran - 2 to remove some blue green algae. I have dosed as per the instructions 4 cycles with water changes. A lot of my twisted val has died. Ie the leaves have broken and now floating around the tank. I have a plant with large broad leaves this also has a clear patch in the middle and is about to break of. I did stop fert trying to stop blue green algae for a couple of days. Any thoughts Tanks

Never though of sterilsing to make it last longer. Unfornutily I have removed my co2 system. Always had the thought that leave a bit in there to help the new batch kick of. But it ever only last a week at a time with rapid drop of. Will be interested if anybody finds it does make a difference Mike
