Our sump water keeps evaporating meaning that our skimmer is never set at the right level. When the sump is filled the skimmer froths too high and overflows and after a day the water has evaporated to the extent that the level is too low for the froth to reach the top of the skimmer. I can never seem to set the skimmer froth to the right level as the next day I look and it needs adjusting which is a pain in the ass. The sump is 20L
Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks
Hi guys, do the rocks look like they have a normal amount of algae in my awuarium as per attached photo? Seems excessive to me. These rocks used to be bright white!
Hi All,
I'm using an internal pump which is noisy in our sump. Can I use an old external fresh water canister pump/filter instead as it's really quiet. I was going to remove all the internal filters, would this work do you think?
Thanks
Hi, have a new tank cycled and have a couple of fish and coral.
There seems to be a reasonable amount of growth on the inside glass of what looks like brown algae. Is this normal?
How often do you have to clean the inside glass?
Thanks
Thanks guys,
I was hoping something like this would be ok: http://www.fish-street.com/coralbox_m1_ ... m_lighting
I was hoping to spend about $350
Cheers
Hi all,
Anyone able to advise on the best cost effective lights for a tank with coral?
Tank is 200L 1m long
I was thinking of getting an led one from fish-street.com but their descriptions are crap and I can't figure out which one I need.
Thanks for any help.
Hi All,
Any advice? I bought a couple of new corals for my newly cycled tank. but they are not opening. I got them yesterday.
Any idea what I could start doing to find out what is wrong?
Thanks
Hi all, any advice?
Our tank just finished cycling and nitrites are down to zero. Problem is I'm not ready for various reasons to put fish into the tank.
My question is, if I turn off the pump and leave the tank stagnant will all the hard work and time spent cycling be all for nothing and lost?
Thanks
Hi,
I have been cycling for about 4 weeks now and the amonia is at the bottom of the scale but the nitrates are at the top of the scale. Is this normal?
Thanks
Hi Guys,
Are you supposed to clean protein skimmers regularly or allow the crud to build up? Obviously empty the collection cup, but the whole inside is now lined with scum, is this a good thing?
Thanks
