Hi, I was going to put a filter temporarily on my cycling aquarium as I am worried about my sumpp tanks dubious chemical history. Would an active carbon cannister filter filter out most chemicals? Thanks

Yikes. Is there a tes kit that I can use to test for chamicals? I am a little worried because I used a sump tank that was previously used for god only knows what. Thanks

Hi, Maybe a dumb question but what sort of water are you supposed to mix with the salt? Is tap water ok? Or rainwater?

How many hours a day do you have to run the sump pump for? I can't get the bloody thing to be quiet and don't want the pump running in the evenings. Would it be ok to run for 18 hours a day?

That wasn't a good idea. The pump is way overpowered for my tank. My drain can't keep up with the amount of water coming in.

Thanks kinnadian. I like the look of yours but not keen on a noisy pump. How noisy is noisy? I know it's hard to quantify, but annoying noisy?
