I am wondering i have put new paler coloured gravel in my tank and the bristlenose now goes pale too when hes on the bottom, when hes on the filter hes dark again is this normal just a sort of camouflage?

Hi guys i have a new tank its a 60L i am wondering what fish and how many fish can go in this currently it has 2 pearl gouramis, 3 platties, 2 longfin danios, 1 guppy 1 cory and a bristlenose and also i have a hexagon 20L could i put a betta and a few bottom fish in this?
