  1. Awesome frogs man! What sort of frogs are they? and How big and how old are they? Cute little things!
  2. Yea we have been finding a bit of puha around. But he absolutely loves his dandelion flowers. He can't get enough of them.
  3. hey sorry for the late reply. Have been so busy lately! Yea I was thinking that he would be a lot more tolerant to the cold. I like the idea of having him out side but I love having him inside, he always comes up to the glass to see us and he loves being handled so I think we may keep him inside. Also with heat at night, I turn it off as his lights go out and then it turns back on as his lights come back on in the morning. Is that all good? He has started eating his veges now. He is absolutely loving his dandelion flowers, not so much the leaves but its a huge step forward! Thanks heaps for your advice mate!
  4. So beardies you are unsure about? With the blue tounges, do you leave the shell on??
  5. So live and dead bees are both ok to feed them then?
  6. Another quick question. I have read around that snails are good for Beardies? Just wondering about their shell? Or do the Beardies munch around or just eat the whole snail? Cheers team!!
  7. Oh sweet! Hey thanks for all the advice! We are on the hunt for a lager enclosure. But we will not be selling him. As for the glass house idea, I reckon that would be great! Just need to find my own place for that to work. Don't think my girlfriends old man would be too happy if I put up a glass house in the middle of his lawn... So the coastals are a lot less fussy about the temperature? Am I correct in saying that?
  8. ok cool. I will start looking for a bigger enclosure now. How should I add in the humidity? just put a water bowl with water?
  9. oh choice! cheers dude! Yea they have been quite a few changes! I will take a picture again when I find my camera!
  10. That is something else that we are not sure about. We look at pictures and he doesn't look like an inland. He looks more like an Eastern?
  11. Cheers mate! Yea we put the insects in the veg and he is crafty, he will manage to grab the insect and not touch the salad and then hes off onto his rock to bask.
  12. Yea I will try them as well. Would you chop them up or just put them in his bowl and let him munch?
  13. We have been trying that as well! haha. He always manages to dodge the veges and get the live food. He is a crafty little so and so! We will keep trying that tactic though and see how he goes. Cheers
  14. Hey guys, I have a bearded dragon, he is about 11 months to a year old. Since we have had him he has never really eaten any veges that we put in his cage. When I see other peoples dragons, as soon as they put the food in their cage their dragon will rush over and start munching. He will however eat his live food, and also the occasional fluker reptile pellet. But I don't want to get him so used to live food so that would be all he eats. I know the youngsters mainly eat live food but surely they still need the fruit and veg as well! Any help/ recommendations are much appreciated!! Cheers team!
  15. No problem dude! Hope shes happy with them! I would have given you a few more but I know some of my family want quite a few. If I have any spare after the family then I will give you a bell!
  16. How much would you charge per visit for a check up? I have a Bearded Dragon and I'm not too happy with the place we take him to at the moment
  17. Would about a dozen or so be all good? I will have to ask my brother in law how many he wants to keep aswell so not sure yet mate
  18. sweet dude, no worries! Would be best in the weekend though. Really busy at work at the moment. How many do you think she wants?
  19. I'm in Khandallah. Would rather pick up if possible? I'm not too certain what they are but I am fairly sure they are the brown tree frog. My brother in law found them in seaview by the old wainui tunnel. Cheers
  20. Hey mate, I have around 50 odd tadpoles. I need to give away a few as I just won't have the room. You are more than welcome to have a few!
  21. haha sweet as! Thanks for clearing that up! Yea I did read somewhere that once they are in captivity they mustn't be released. So I hope people will want some frogs... I will make my own thread I think and see if I can get some good pictures of them
  22. hey hey! That's great advice! Cool, thanks! I will keep doing what I'm doing then. So I sholdn't worry about lights and heaters for them then? They do look nice and round and fat. They seem to be grazing on the weed in there aswell so thats cool!
  23. Great! Thanks for your help! Yea, we were thinking that. How often should I be feeding them then? At the moment it is every second day. Sorry for all the questions, but I have never kept tadpoles before so just want to make sure that they will be all good!
  24. Ok cool. Thanks for that! I might try and see if I can find a good cheap thermometer. When you say I need to be on to it, what do you mean? As in with the water changes? Alos what about food. Is fish flakes fine for now? When they start to morph I was going to go out and get some wingless flies? cheers!
  25. hey, sorry but this is a bit off topic. But My brother in law found some tadpoles. About 50 odd... At the moment I am looking after them and I am keeping them in a 300Lx300Wx400H exo-terra cage. I have had them for about a month now and the majority are around 2-3 cms, there are a few that would be lucky to even reach 2cms. I am guessing that they are brown tree frogs. Since having them, I don't think they have growen a hell of a lot if at all. I have posted on here on what I should be feeding them. At the moment we are just feeding them fish flakes. That seems to be enough for them as they are not eating each other which is good!! My old man won't let me have them inside so I have found a nice place outside that gets lots of sun (when the sun decides to shine). I have been changing the water every weekend and replacing it with about a quarter of the water that they would be originally swimming in and the other 3 quarters would be rain water that I have collected in a bucket. Any help to get these little dudes growing would be much appreciated. Thank you very much!
