  1. Ok, cool. But lights or filters? yes or no? If so, what would they need?
  2. At the moment we are feeding them Aqua One goldfish flakes. Would that do or would they need something better than that?
  3. Hey that's choice! What natives are you puting in there?
  4. Choice, I have got the bucket getting rain water now. And would they need any lights or filters?
  5. Hey guys, We found some tadpoles today in a little puddle that was drying up so decided to pick them up and rescue them. I had a spare 300L x 300W x 450H exo terra enclosure and have put them in that along with the water that they were swimming in. We picked up a bit of the weed they had in there as well which was just mainly grass. We are just not certain on what food would be the best for them at this stage, I have read that they do eat goldfish flakes and also the goodness out of the weeds? Do they require any filters and lights? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers
  6. Ok cool. Thanks for that. hopefully they will turn out all good. I bought a 300x300x450 container for them today so hopefully that will be big enough
  7. So lights have to be on 24/7 for locusts do they? Can't they go through the night with no light?
  8. Yea I'm heading towards that idea as well. Time of year. I am also pretty keen to breed my own locusts as buying them each time is just far to expensive!
  9. We have had him since 29th May. He is very active when he is not in his enclosure and he is still very alert in his enclosure. So I'm not sure what's going on. I have a thread on the Welcome section with him and his set up. With his set up, there have been a couple of changes than what the photo shows. Big one being his light. He no longer has a coil UVB. He now has 2 Repti-glo 5.0s
  10. Yea I will give that ago, thanks mate. He does eat, he just won't when ever we are there watching. He usually stays pretty still in his enclosure when we are around except if there are the wax worms in there.
  11. Yes, that's exactly right. We only have the one and we are constantly finding new ideas and ways to give him the best care possible. We put in fresh food every day but he never runs to it and we very rarely see him eating. He just won't eat when we are around except for his wax worms. He is very active and is currently racing round like a lunatic in the lounge as I type this.
  12. 15 dragons?? haha wow that is a lot man! When you put food in your enclosure for the dragons do they run up to the bowl as soon as you put it in there and munch away?
  13. Yea we use dandelion at the moment and also puha when we find it ( we don't have puha on the property). We were also told that wandering willy, in a very very small dosage, isn't too bad but to much will cause diarrhea.
  14. Hey thanks for that guys! Yea I have had a brief read over that so will take a better look. I bought the book 'keeping Australian dragons successfully in NZ' the other day and that seems really good!
  15. Hey guys, I was just wondering what it actually is about lettuce and why you can't feed it to beardies? I have been reading that you shouldn't feed them lettuce but it never really seems to say why. Then I also read somewhere that it is ok to feed them lettuce. Does anyone know what is true and the explanation? Cheers!
