  1. Thank you so much that is SO useful!! :happy2:
  2. I have seen a few posts asking about this and they have been told to search. I have searched and am still having trouble! Basically I am studying for a vet exam that gives me an extra qualification in reptiles, amphibians and small mammals. Part of the exam is husbandry of commonly kept species. In my experience, the most commonly kept reptiles are beardies, leopard geckos, water dragons, red eared terrapins and a variety of native skinks and geckos. If I've missed any biggies please let me know! Cheers guys, Tara
  3. Hi there, So sorry for the ridiculously late reply I am not the best at checking this as you can see! My Facebook page is called Small Pet Vet Wellington. So please feel free to join! It gives you a little more info on what I do and I post pics of cases regularly. Thanks! Tara
  4. Hey there, I do like birds and am trying to see as many as possible but I would not say they are an area of expertise for me (reptiles and small mammals - bunnies, gp's, rats etc. - are my best areas). Always happy to see birds and I will never get up to scratch if I don't get more experience with treating them! Where do you work (pm me if u like?). Do you have birds? Tara
  5. I know him as an aquaintance and he seems like a knowledgeable guy and he had been doing exotics for a while so I would say he would defo be worth a try! Have never worked with him tho.
  6. Haha do you know about Kevin Turner at Lynfield vets? He would be your best bet (although i'm not sure you could make him your wife!) Tara
  7. The current price for an exotic pet consultation is $38.50. This is less than for a cat or dog. It includes a full health check as well as a chat about any husbandry concerns that you may have. Tara
  8. Thanks for the support great to see there are so many responsible herp keepers here (I'm from the Uk where it's a lot cheaper to keep reptiles so I find there are a lot of people keeping reptiles without doing the proper research) Go Nz Herps!
  9. Hi there, I'm a vet in Wellington with a special interest in reptiles and amphibians, I had this forum recommended to me by a client. I love to see as many herps as possible and I used to keep a few when I lived in the UK. I work at Rappaw Vet Care in Paremata, the number is 04 2338059 I know it can be hard too find a vet with herp knowledge so please feel free to book in with me! Cheers, Tara
